I have some more tablescape pictures from the County Fair. The tablescape show room is the very first place I stop by each year I visit the fair and I have never been disappointed. I think I inherited this hobby from my grandmother. She had a true passion for setting her table and it looked just perfect when we had company over for a meal. She loved entertaining and was a very good host. She always focused on the details and once it was all perfect, she'd open a bottle of liquor, "so that our guests can relax and enjoy a good meal," she would say. I was only eight years old but already enjoyed looking at an awesome table.
This is my Grandmother's tea set and gravy boat that my lovely sister was able to obtain. Although my sister only got part of the set, it's a lovely set, nevertheless:
It totally reminds me of Mozart and Beethoven. I can just hear Fur Elise in the background.
The rest of the pictures are from the County Fair.
I did not get to write down the names of the designers, I do apologize. But, if you had to walk around with a husband and two little ones, who all they wanted to do was go on rides and the LAST thing they wanted to do was look at tablescapes, you'd understand. They all had this face, mind you, this is after I asked nicely to say cheese!
Now back to the tables, I love the black boots in the middle of this table and the beautiful black doll sitting on the little chair opposite the boots:
I didn't care much for the three doll babies on the top stair but I LOVED my black doll with her curly black hair and my little blond doll that could walk when I moved her arms. You can kind of see in the picture that she's taking a step.
"let's not forget the pearls!" gramma would say.
Quite a few of the tables were accessorized with shoes! yes shoes! I can just see my stilettos working the table.
Here's an Alice in Wonderland table. This feels more like the original Alice in wonderland:
and don't forget to visit all the Pink Ladies. Bevery at How Sweet The Sound is hositing a fun Pink Saturday Linky party:
kisses from Croatia.
I love the tea set!ReplyDelete
Hi Maria! Oh my gosh, what a great post! I really never got to go to any fairs this year, but I FEEL like I have now!! (oh, but if only I had a candied apple right now!).. Not that I've been to MANY different fairs, but this is the first time I've ever HEARD of a tablescape showroom/exhibit!! I would have LOVED seeing that!!!! (and yes, I can just hear my kids moaning and groaning too!) LOVED the Alice In Wonderland tables, and even recognized one of my own teapots in one of the first (original AIW)tables you showed!... The photo of you and your dolls is very sweet. I loved all my dolls when I was a little girl, and I never outgrew them.. What ones I've held onto, I love them all still, and there will always be room in my heart for any new ones I can find!.. Have a great day! ~tinaReplyDelete
I really like the photo of you when you were little. Adorable!!ReplyDelete

I really enjoyed seeing these tables. I never even knew that they did tablescaping at fairs until I got involved with TT. Love the Alice tables. That picture of you as a little girl is just priceless.ReplyDelete
Wow - your fair has really raised the bar for tablescapes! They are all so wonderful. Thanks to your family for allowing you the time to share them with us. I was once abandoned in the quilt barn of our state fair by my family - pre-cellphone, too! I have gotten so much inspiration from these tables. They are all so lovely. Thanks again for sharing with us!ReplyDelete
Thank you for taking us on a tour of the magical tablescapes at the fair...well, maybe we should thank the boys, too. Cherry KayReplyDelete
How fun is this! I've never seen anything like this at the fair.ReplyDelete
Boy! County fairs have changed their venues ... what a delight idea to have tablescapes there. Some very unique & creative ideas ... I can say that kid-ling is 'tired' ... time for cotton candy, Mum.ReplyDelete
Have a beautiful PS weekend ~

I thought of you yesterday as I made my tutorial (it is now posted) and wondered how you put all those pics on...I get confused after 2 pictures...I put them on in the wrong order, had to take them out and start over--how funny! But, there's something on there you may want to make so I thought I'd come over and tell you about it....hugs from me,
I spied some cool stuff there. Looks like a fun place to be. Cute tea sets too.ReplyDelete
That tea set is fabulous.ReplyDelete
Thanks fro sharing the photos of the tables. We missed our fair this year - that is my favorite part. My friend entered an I-spy table one year...it was awesome. My son has that same look when we are in that part of the fair.
