A Pretty Table and Napkin Folding Technique

It's been raining like crazy here in Los Angeles the last two days, it's nice for a change.  Everything seems to slow down when it rains.  Last Friday I took a trip to Disneyland with some very special friends and since we were first having breakfast at my house, I decided to have a nice little breakfast set up for my friends.

I recently read a blog post that I ***LOVED*** I'll share the link with you below.
Miriam from   Be Book Bound discovered a way to fold her dinner napkins into an envelope! I loved the idea so much that I wanted to use her technique for my napkins, unfortunately, I couldn't find the link to her blog and I wound up folding my napkins like a little purse, they still turned out pretty cute.  I'll show you my technique down towards the bottom, here's the napkin:

Here's the Micky Mouse breakfast:

and here's the table all dressed up and ready for my friends:

and now on to the "purse folded napkin".  You will need two napkins for this.  First, fold one napkin in half
place second napkin on top

fold corner of second napkin
next, place flatware inside

fold sides over

last, fold top corner down

Here's Miriams lovely napkin, you can catch her technique at her blog:

Happy Napkin Folding!

SteamPunk

I can't even imagine what people must be going through right now with the recent tornados across the South and Midwest, it's such devastation, my prayers go out to all who lost a loved one.

What a hot day it was today here in Southern California.  I spent the day in Anaheim and the temperature there rose to 90 degrees fahreinheit 32 degrees celsius.   For the middle of  this week the temperature is expected to drop to the freezing 50's......go figure!   That's the reason you will find heavy jackets in our closets as well as summer shorts and flip flops.  We just never get a chance to put away our summer clothes.

For today's post I want to share some Artist Trading Cards some very artistic friends made recently.  The theme was SteamPunk.  It's a mix of Victorian era/Futuristic/Science Fiction.  You can read more about SteamPunk here

There were quite a few ATC's but I'm only going to share six with you today.  They're all varied but the theme is the same for all of them, "SteamPunk".

This was created by Cheryl Shoats.  I love the softness of the corset against the rough metallic gears
This next one is by Virginia Balles Binion, I love the bird and the tall hat

The next one is by Kim, again, I love the bird in the cage
Florentina Rivas, love her use of zippers

Rose Rodriguez, love the images she used
and finally my little creation

That's it for today, thanks for coming by.  I hope you're inspired to try and creating something with a SteamPunk theme.

Have a wonderful week!
